  • Ridges Hosts “My Kind of County” Program

    Generations of farmers, foresters, and fishermen have earned their livelihoods from the rocks, woods, and waters of the Door Peninsula. Their activities, as well as the changes on the county’s landscapes over the years, will be the focus of a lecture titled “My Kind of County” on Thursday, July 30 at 7 pm at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall.

    The Door Jam is offering beginning and private guitar lessons for anyone who wants to kick their guitar skills up a notch.
    In the “Guitar 101 and Slow Jam” class, several local guitar players will teach the basics.

    Crossroads at Big Creek is becoming increasingly inviting to birds. Plant succession, combined with efforts of volunteers and staff, are returning the preserve to a more natural state.

    Lawrence University’s Bjorklunden is hosting “Educational Challenges in African Countries,” a free lecture presented by Claudena Skran.
