Sister Bay announces paving projects
The Village of Sister Bay announced two paving projects. All of Country Walk Drive near the Piggly Wiggly will be re-paved after Labor Day, with a walking and biking path added alongside the road.

• The first plantings are in at The Community’s Garden on 16th Place in Sturgeon Bay. The mission of the garden is to showcase the connection between a community’s well being and nature.

Door County’s five school districts open their doors for students next week. All Gibraltar students start school Sept. 1. The school will host an open house for secondary school students Sept.

Whitefish, Potawatomi opened for deer hunting
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will make Whitefish Dunes and Potawatomi State Parks available to deer hunting from Nov. 20 – 28. The primary objective is vegetative and resource management.

• Egg Harbor’s new marina was dedicated Aug. 14, marking the culmination of a tumultuous four years of debate and planning. The $6.5 million marina features 63 slips, handicap accessibility, and natural storm water runoff filtration.

• The County of Door is launching a new program promoting the community and local businesses. The county has entered into a three-year agreement with CGI Communications to produce 10 streaming online videos covering topics including tourism, quality of life and economic development.
