  • Get “Linked In” at Savory Spoon Cooking School

    Join the Savory Spoon Cooking School in Ellison Bay for a special class on the art of making sausage. The class is set for Wednesday, October 14, and is being taught by Greg “Fuzzy” Sunstrom, a Door County native and restaurant owner who has a passion for making outstanding sausage.

  • Peninsula State Park Hosts Annual “Spook-tacular” Hike

    Saturday, October 10 marks the Peninsula State Park’s annual “Spook-tacular” Hike. This “ghoulishly” fun Halloween event will take place from 5 – 7:30 pm.

  • “Jack-O-Lantern Days” Set for Last Weekend of October

    On the last weekend of October, Fish Creek will be celebrating the month’s end with its first annual “Jack-O-Lantern Days.” This series of activities is set for October 30 through November 1.

  • Ephraim Village Museums to Close for Season October 10

    Saturday, October 10 will be the last day of the Ephraim Village Museum’s 2009 Season. The five museum buildings will close for the winter and re-open for Fyr Bal weekend on Friday, June 18, 2010.

    The ash trees at Crossroads at Big Creek are turning their leaves. Some are golden, some are purple – all are beautiful. Ash trees went unnoticed until the news came out that the emerald ash borer had been found in Wisconsin, and recently, there has been some news that beech trees are vulnerable to insect and fungal damage.

    Susan Reed will be riding her recumbent bicycle from Wilmette, Illinois to Washington Island the weekend of October 3 and 4. This 255-mile, two-day ride is a short ride for Reed, who recently completed a 30-day transcontinental bicycle ride.

  • Opposites Collide in TAP’s The Odd Couple

    Sturgeon Bay’s Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) continues its fall season with Neil Simon’s enduring comedy classic, The Odd Couple. Performances are scheduled over two weekends:  October 8 – 11 and October 15 – 18.

The group is a non-denominational men’s chorus of about 35 members who represent many walks of life and church backgrounds who want to share their love of music and Christian ministry.
