  • The Ridges Coordinates Two Bird Counts

    Volunteer bird enthusiasts all over the country are gearing up for the annual Christmas Bird Count, sponsored by the National Audubon Society. The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor will coordinate two local bird counts, the Ephraim and Northern Door Counts, which are scheduled for Dec. 17.

  • Egg Harbor Hosts 18th Annual Holly Days

    Egg Harbor will celebrate their 18th annual Holly Days, an old-fashioned Christmas celebration, starting on Nov. 25 with Breakfast with Santa at Carrington Pub & Grill at the Landmark Resort.

  • The Ridges’ Natural Christmas

    The Ridges’ Natural Christmas event will be held Dec. 10 from 3 – 6 pm at the Marshall Cabin, located at 8288 Highway Q in Baileys Harbor. There is no charge for this family-friendly event.

  • Jacksonport Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade

    Entering its 15th year, the annual Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place Nov. 24. This fun-loving, eclectic parade, a labor of love put in to motion by local northern Door County residents, will build upon the theme of neighbors helping neighbors this year by supporting three individuals in the community.

  • Ephraim’s Christmas in the Village

    Ephraim will host their annual Christmas in the Village on Dec. 3. From 1 – 4 pm children can visit live reindeer outside the Ephraim Village Hall. Santa and his elves will be on hand to mingle and take photos.

  • Construct Bird Feeders at Ridges’ “Early Birders Club”

    Tips and tricks to get started in bird feeding will be discussed at the next “Early Birders Club” program at the Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor. The program will take place Nov. 12.

  • Fish Creek Hosts Annual Jack-O-Lantern Days

    A hometown Halloween celebration is in store for Fish Creek’s annual Jack-O-Lantern Days, October 28 – 30. The fun-filled weekend highlights will include mask making for kids, pumpkin carvings, a Halloween parade, trick-or-treating, and costume parties for both kids and adults.

  • Various Programs at Crossroads

    Oct. 28 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm, the Crossroads will host a Cross-Generational Class entitled “Digital Nature.” Instructor Stephen Kastner will show participants how to capture images of nature using digital photography and how to share images using the Internet.

  • Canine Costume Contest in Egg Harbor

    Wisconsin Cheese Masters of Egg Harbor will be the site of a Canine Costume Contest on Oct. 29. Festivities will begin at 1 pm, with a costume parade and judging at 2 pm.

  • Door County Half Marathon Registration Opens Nov. 1

    Registration for the 5th annual Door County Half Marathon and Nicolet Bay 5k will open Tuesday, Nov. 1. Both races filled to capacity in 2011, so runners are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot for the run in Peninsula State Park.

    The final Farm Market hosted by the Sister Bay Historical Society will take place October 8 at their Corner of the Past Museum grounds. Woodcarver Gary Dooly will present the Heritage Demonstration in the Koessl Barn as part of the morning’s activities.
