  • TAP Brings Back Daddy D and the Gang

    Daddy D and the gang will return to Third Avenue Playhouse on Saturday, September 25 at 7:30 pm with Glory Days, a brand new musical revue featuring songs and comedy from the ‘50s and ‘60s.

  • Peninsula Singers Begin Fall Rehearsals

    The Peninsula Singers (formerly known as The Peninsula Chamber Singers) is a self-supporting volunteer choral group that entertains Door County audiences with their twice-a-year Christmas and spring concerts.

  • Peninsula Players Present “Sunday Seminars”

    Peninsula Players’ “Saturday Seminar Series” will continue into the fall with two new seminars in September and three more in October. Players’ actor Erica Elam will lead the September 18 seminar on Improvisation.

  • Extraordinary Portraits of Ordinary People at Woodwalk

    Theater M at Woodwalk Gallery is thrilled to bring “Talking Heads,” the smart and challenging work by Alan Bennett to the stage. Three more performances of “Three Actors – Three Monologues” will take place on Sept. 17, 18, and 19.

  • Shepherd of the Bay Hosts Annual Fast Sale October 2

    The annual fall sale at Shepherd of the Bay in Ellison Bay will be held Saturday, October 2 from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm. The sale will offer something for every shopper as well as an opportunity to have a delicious lunch of homemade chili, chicken salad on a croissant, and a tasty autumn dessert.

    The Savory Spoon Cooking School in Ellison Bay will continue offering eclectic classes and educational opportunities surrounding all aspects of the culinary arts this fall.

  • Learn Mandarin Chinese in Group or Private Lessons

    Beginning this fall, Ping Wu and Soirsce Kastner of Ping Studios are offering group language classes in Mandarin Chinese and private tutoring throughout the school year.

  • Two Seminars Offered at Bjorklunden

    From Oct.17 – Oct. 22 Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden in Baileys Harbor is offering two seminars: “Emily & Walt” and “The Fight to Save the Cranes of India, Pakistan & Russia: An Insider’s Adventure.”

  • Celebrate APPLES! at Door County Historical Museum

    On Saturday, September 18 the Door County Historical Museum will present a celebration of “APPLES!” from 10 am – 2 pm. The event will feature apple treats and a display of the early history of the apple industry in Door County, including the many contributions of Joseph Zettel.

  • Door County’s UU Fellowship Discusses Same-Sex Marriage

    As apart of the “Movies That Matter” monthly series, the UU Fellowship in Ephraim will show the documentary Fish Out of Water on September 21 at 7 pm.

  • Judy and Carl Jackson Host Benefit Concert September 19

    Judy and Carl Jackson, who will present their annual benefit concert on Sunday, September 19 at 7 pm at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church, will combine the sonority of two nine-foot grand pianos for a varied program of appealing music.

  • TAP Presents George Sawyn and Mike Cosentino

    Guitarist and vocalist George Sawyn joins Chicago saxophonist Mike Cosentino for an evening of standards from the Great American Songbook & Beyond on Saturday, September 18 at 7:30 pm at Third Avenue Playhouse.

  • At the Savory Spoon

    The Savory Spoon in Ellison Bay will present an international culinary exploration on Thursday, September 23 at 6 pm. In this class, participants will learn to make mayonnaise and custard, among other things, using farm fresh Wisconsin eggs.

  • “Fun and Games” at Jacksonport Town Hall September 22

    On Septemer 22, the Jacksonport Historical Society will present a night of “Fun and Games.” The program will feature a variety of nostalgic games. We plan to have fun tonight! There’s truly nowhere to Hide because we’ll Seek out the fun and laughter as we follow our Hearts and remember the games we’ve played with family and friends and the fun we’ve had through the years, past and present.

  • Bridge and Poetry Seminars at Bjorklunden

    From Oct. 10 – Oct. 15 Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden in Baileys Harbor is offering two seminars: “Play Better Bridge: Lessons for the Intermediate and Advancing Bridge Player” and “Nuts, Bolts and Jackhammers: a Poetry Workshop.”

  • GHA Presents “Gibraltar Talks: Memories of Folda Engelmar”

    The Gibraltar Historical Association (GHA) invites members, area residents, and visitors for an evening of historical discussion as GHA continues its monthly talks series.

  • Kiwanis Club Presents Documentary “The Silk Road”

    The Kiwanis Club kicks off its 2010-2011 Travelogue season on Friday, September 17 with the presentation of its first of six new travel films. The first film, The Silk Road, takes viewers on a journey along the ancient Silk Road as presented by Marlin Darrah.

  • ‘Welcome’ Mat Means Dogs Too

    The dog days are here in the county, with many local business owners bringing their own pooches to work and welcoming their customers to do the same. Customers look forward to seeing the doggie mascot, sometimes bringing treats.
